You may be wondering, “Who is this Cleo and what is she selling?” Honestly, I’m still figuring that out myself! But one thing is certain: I’m embarking on a new journey with boundless enthusiasm and a thirst for discovery.
From Glitter to Grit
For 15 years, I dazzled stages worldwide as a performer, from intimate queer bars to grand opera houses and I’ve had the honour of producing award winning shows alongside some incredibly cool and talented people! Behind the scenes, I’ve worn many hats—social media manager, accountant, costume designer, project manager—mastering the art of multitasking and creativity along the way.
Championing Change
As an avid advocate for marginalised communities, many of which I am a part of, my creative practice has always pushed boundaries and challenged perceptions. My advocacy extended beyond the stage and into the industry.
When the global pandemic hit, I saw an urgent need to uplift artists of colour. I founded an anti-racism arts organisation, The People of Cabaret, which not only raised over a quarter of a million dollars for community artists but also led to the development of consulting services, mentorship programs, inclusive demographic collection practices and more. Through this work, I honed skills in advocacy, organisational development, and creating equitable practices.
A New Chapter
Now, I’m venturing beyond the arts, eager to apply my diverse skills in new and exciting ways. Whether it’s streamlining operations for small businesses, crafting strategic plans for larger organisations, or advising on inclusive practices, my background offers a unique blend of creativity and business acumen.
My spreadsheets are swoon-worthy, and my knack for seeing both the big picture and the finer details ensures cohesive alignment from business branding to customer management. I’m proficient in Google Workspace and its programs, form-building platforms, and even dabbling in coding (yep, big nerd here!).
